About Department:The department of Computer Science and Engineering at BVRIT was formed in 1997 with an intake of 40. Subsequently the intake is enhanced from 40 to 60 in the academic year 1999, 90 in academic year 2000, 120 in the academic year 2007 and 180 in the academic year 2014.The Department offers UG (B.Tech with intake 180) and PG (M.Tech-CSE with intake 36) degrees. The Department has state of the art infrastructure and computing equipment supported by high speed internet and wireless networks.The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is renowned for cutting edge research and for imparting state of art education. The Department provides an outstanding research environment complemented by excellence in teaching.Our faculty aims at delivering top class education blending their rich research experience with classroom teaching. It also promotes active industry-institute collaboration by identifying areas of interest and taking part in sponsored research projects and consultancy services. When India’s computer industry created mark in world of business and gained super trust and revenue for the nation it also created large amount of well paid jobs for Computer Engineering students.Computer science and engineering students will learn about basic engineering techniques, as other engineering students, during first year course. These techniques include Engineering Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, Engineering drawing, and C & Data structures. From second year they are exposed to core computer science subjects like programming, advanced data structures, Digital logic design, Theoretical computer science, Algorithms, Computer networks, Operating systems, Web technologies, Databases and Computer Architecture are few to mention.This is really an excellent field to have opportunities both in software companies and higher studies. As computing is extensively applied to almost every walk of life it created massive jobs for Computer Engineering students. On the same time more demand and application kept it research funding alive attracting many students to opt for higher studies.Core companies offering jobs to Computer science Engineers:Government organizations like DRDL, ISRO, ECIL and BEL offer jobs to computer science students. There are thousands of multinational and national software companies offer jobs to computer engineers. To name few famous, Microsoft, Google, Yahoo, Amazon, IBM, Face book, Oracle, Cisco, Infosys, TCS, and Wipro. Average Salary for Computer science engineer: 3~4 Lakh INR a year.TRAINING:Short-term project and soft skill training is arranged to the students in order to give them an opportunity to get familiar with various technologies & Interview Techniques.Collaborations:The Department of CSE has collaborations with various Organizations such as Satyam Computer Services Limited, ELICO, Microsoft, SIERRA ATLANTA, CMC, Glob arena, Ensine, UTL Technologies etc.Achievements:Consistency in results (above 90%).Consistency in placements (above 87%).Faculty members are publishing papers in national and international journals and conferences.Every faculty attended at least one conference/seminar/workshop.Successfully conducted national level technical fests.Technonector-2010 and Promethean-2K11.Female Student Campus Placement Mission through Jawahar Knowledge Center.Campus recruitment for various Multinational Companies like Microsoft, Satyam Computer Services, Infotech Enterprises etc.,Many Prizes won by students at various National & International Level Symposia.For more information contact: hodcse@bvrit.ac.in.

 Program outcomes (POs)

Program outcomes describe what students are expected to know and be able to do by the time of graduation. These relate to the knowledge, skills, and behaviors that students acquire as they progress through the program.

Program outcomes are defined in order for faculty to have a common understanding of the expectations for student learning and to achieve consistency across the curriculum, as measured by performance indicators. Performance indicators represent the knowledge, skills, attitudes or behavior students should be able to demonstrate by the time of graduation that indicate competence related to the outcome.

List Program outcomes (POs)

The program enables students to achieve the following attributes by the time of graduation:

a) An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering.

b) An ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyses and interpret data.

c) An ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs within realistic constraints such as economic, environmental, social, political, ethical, health and safety, manufacturability, and sustainability.

d) An ability to identify, formulates, and solves engineering problems.

e) An ability to function on multidisciplinary teams.

f) An understanding of professional and ethical responsibility.

g) An ability to communicate effectively.

h) The broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal context.

i) A recognition of the need for, and an ability to engage in life-long learning.

j) A knowledge of contemporary issues.

k) An ability to use the techniques, skills, and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice

l) All graduating students, by the time of their graduation, shall be able to: enhance their skills and embrace new computing technologies through self-directed professional development

 

 

Programme Educational Objectives PEOs

 Program Educational Objectives are broad statements that describe what graduates are expected to attain within a few years of graduation. Program educational objectives are based on the needs of the program’s constituencies.

The program has documented measurable educational objectives and outcomes, based on the needs of the program’s constituencies. The program uses a documented process incorporating relevant data to regularly assess its educational objectives and outcomes and to evaluate the extent to which they are being met. The results of the evaluations are used to develop and implement plans to effect continuous improvement of the program

This lab is a part of 1st Year.  In this Lab students will learn C programming and Data structures. This Lab is Mandatory for all the branches.

English Language Communications Skills Lab:

This Lab is a part of 1st year. In this lab faculty traines the student on communication skills which will be helpful to face any interviews, to write any exams for higher studies.

Electronics Devices And Circuits Laboratory :

This Lab is a part of 2nd year. This lab is well equipped with all basic requirements of electronic components. The main idea is to focus on the basic working of Diodes, Transistors, oscillators and their applications in Rectifiers, Amplifiers and Oscillators.

Object Oriented Programming Lab:

In this Lab students will learn Object oriented Programming Language (Java).

Data Structures lab through C++ Lab:

In this Lab students will learn C++ and Data structures through C++.

Micro Processors Lab:

This lab is a part of 3rd Year.

This lab is well equipped with all the microprocessors and micro controllers. It consists of  performing Intel Assembly  language on processors of  8086,8085,8051(TRAINER KITS) and also by  using Turbo Assembler, interfacing modules like stepper Motor, traffic lights, elevators, 7 segment display etc. Final year students have performed much application for there Project works on micro controllers (8051).

INTRODUCTION

  • The Department of Computer Science & Engineering was started in the year 1997 with an initial intake of 40,The intake was increased from 40 to 60 in the year 1999 and to 90 in the year 2000.In the Year 2007 the intake is enhanced to 120
  • The first batch students graduated in July2001
  • The department offers M.Tech(CSE) PG course, started in 2008-09 with intake of 18
  • The Department has Well-equipped labs, Licensed Software & Excellent infrastructure.
  • The department has started a student computer technical association to encourage the students to participate in various activities so as to acquire technical

knowledge and awareness.

  • The Department has IEEE chapter and ISTE student chapter. Through these chapters, the Department procure 20 international and national magazines, journals and transactions. Apart from this, various competitions like software tests, computer awareness tests, group discussions, and technical quizzes are being conducted.

COLLABORATIONS:

The BVRIT-CSE has collaborations with various Organizations such as Satyam Computer Services Limited, ELICO, SIERRA ATLANTA, CMC, Glob arena, Ensine, UTL Technologies etc.

ACHIEVEMENTS:

  • Consistency in results (above 90%) Female Student Campus Placement Mission through Jawahar Knowledge Center. Campus recruitment for various Multinational Companies like Microsoft, Satyam Computer Services , Infotech Enterprises etc., Many Prizes won by students at various National & International Level Symposia. Inauguration of CSI Student Chapter by Eminent Prof. Shoukat Ali Mirza, Director, AMS.

TRAINING:

  • Short-term project and soft skill training is arranged to the students in order to give them an opportunity to get familiar with various technologies & Interview Techniques.
  • The Department of Computer Science & Engineering provides opportunities for each student to have experience with broadening activities. Through this Program, students have the opportunity to gain practical industry experience, participate in advanced research activities; and through international exchange programs.

DSC 0449_lrIt is a matter of pride that BVRIT MIC students have been recognized and awarded with Gold Medals and Certificates of Merit for their excellent effort in COMPUDON - the Gateway to the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship at New Delhi and Noida.9 students from CSE and IT Departments have been awarded by Microsoft in collaboration with Cyberlearning and Certiport in the Awards Ceremony on 31-05-2014 at 5.00 PM in New Delhi.
