About Department:

Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in the year 1999 for imparting a state-of the- art and quality education, training and research in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering and allied areas. The department offers a Bachelor's program with an intake of 240 students per year and Master's programmes in VLSI System Design and Embedded Systems with an intake of 18 students each.

The Department has state-of the- art special laboratories in the areas of Embedded systems, DSP, VLSI system design. Department is prestigious with the latest Cadence, Synopsys, Xilinx, National Instruments & Texas Instruments tools to cater various specializations. Further the Department conducts Add on courses and training programs for pre-final and final year UG and PG students in collaboration with SYNOPSYS, XILINX, NI, CADENCE and TI under their university Programs.

Department research strength spans over diverse disciplines like Center for Cognitive Sciences, Center for VLSI Design, Center for Embedded systems design, Texas Instruments Lab, National Instruments and Randy Pausch Robotics Engineering Center with quality faculty members Dr. I.A.Pasha, Mr.I.B.K.Raju, Mr. Anirudh Reddy, Prof.Sanjay Dubey, Mr.M.C.Chinnaiah and Prof.K.Prabhakar Rao as in-charges for the respective fields. It also encourages its researchers to participate in a wide range of international research collaborations. BVRIT's extensive network creates unique opportunities for conducting and supporting research, particularly in multi-disciplinary areas.

Programme Educational Objectives:

The Educational Objectives of Electronics and communication Engineering program at BVRIT:

To prepare students to excel in the graduate program; to succeed in industry / technical profession and also enable to purse higher studies and continued life-long learning.

To provide students with solid foundation in mathematics, Sciences and basic engineering breadth they cover multi-disciplinary subjects enabling them to comprehend, analyze engineering problems and develop solutions.

To prepare students with strong engineering knowledge and technical competence to use techniques, skills and modern engineering tools that allow them to work effectively as electronics and communication engineer.

Research & Development / Funded Projects:

The Department is presently funded with R & D projects of Rs. 1 crore from various government agencies under Department of Science and Technology, AICTE- RPS and NCP grants.

Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India under Science and Technology of Yoga and Meditation(SATYAM) has sanctioned Rs 36 lakhs for a period of three years for a project on "Design & Development of an Embedded Assistive YOGA System". Dr.M.C.Chin naiah is the Principal Investigator.Dr. I A Pasha and Prof. Sanjay Dubey are Coinvestigators

Center for Cognitive Sciences A centre for Cognitive Science Research is established in the department of ECE to promote this research activity in this emerging new area. Department of Science & Technology , Govt of India has sanctioned  Rs.45 lacs for a period of 3 years for a project on “Assistive Technology devices for Quadriplegic & ALS patients”. Dr. I. A. Pasha is the principal investigator.

AICTE-RPS Funded Project: All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi has sanctioned Rs.16.05 lakhs for a period of 2 years for a project on Radar signal processing submitted by Dr. I. A. Pasha under Research Promotion Scheme (RPS).  

DST Funded Woman’s Research Project Department of Science & Technology , Govt of India has sanctioned  Rs.23 lakhs for a period of 3 years for a project on “Reconfigurable real time signal capturing using FPGA in VLSI Technology” submitted by Mrs.Jayshree Das under the mentorship of Dr. I.A.Pasha.

Yet another R & D proposal for the department is under review with DST under TIDE scheme, Prof Sanjay Dubey is the Principal Investigator, Dr. I.A. Pasha and Dr. M C Chinnaiah are the Co Investigators. The proposed budget for the R&D project is 63 Lakhs


The placement record has always been very impressive. Students are placed in MNCs and Industries involving VLSI, Embedded Systems, Wireless communications, Signal processing, Microelectronics, Robotics, Computer software, hardware integration and other advanced technologies.Placement in leading core companies like Synopsys, Xilinx,  Agilent, Alcatel, Hellosoft, Medha Servo drives, AMD, Soctronics and ELICO systems & Software companies like TCS, Infosys, Mahindra Satyam, Sonata, CTS, IBM, Delloitte, Thoughtworks, NTT Data, Virtuso etc.
