INTRODUCTION
The Department of IT was established in 2000-2001. With a current intake of 120 for B.Tech(IT) and 18 for M.Tech(Software Engineering), the primary objective of department is to impart cutting-edge software education to the students so that they can meet the challenging demands of the IT industry. The first batch students graduated in July 2004.The Department has Well-equipped labs, Licensed Software & Excellent infrastructure.
The department has started a student computer technical association to encourage the students to participate in various activities so as to acquire technical knowledge and awareness. The Department has IEEE chapter and ISTE student chapter. Through these chapters, the Department procure 20 international and national magazines, journals and transactions. Apart from this, various competitions like software tests, computer awareness tests, group discussions, and technical quizzes are being conducted.
COLLABORATIONS:
The BVRIT-IT has collaborations with various Organizations such as Tata Consultancy Services, Micrsoft, IBM, Infosys, Oracle, Computer Associates, Elico, Sierra Atlantic, CMC, Elico, ECIL, NFC, Mahindra Satyam, Kaizen Technologies etc.
ACHIEVEMENTS:
• Consistency in results (above 90%).
• More than 90% students certified in 1 or more Tools / Technologies from IBM or Microsoft.
• Practical projects experience for most students through IBM TGMC projects and Industry internships.
• Student Campus Placement Mission through Jawahar Knowledge Center.
• Campus recruitment for various Multinational Companies like TCS, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Sierra Atlantic, Mahindra Satyam, CMC etc.,
• Many Prizes won by students at various National & International Level Symposia.
• Inauguration of CSI Student Chapter by Eminent Prof. Shoukat Ali Mirza, Director, AMS.
TRAINING:
The department organizes special technical training on a regular basis on various curricular and extra-curricular subjects to help students stay up-to-date on current developments in Information Technology. Short-term project and soft skill training is arranged to the students in order to give them an opportunity to get familiar with various technologies & Interview Techniques.
Objectives:
• The Department of Information Technology provides opportunities for each student to have experience with broadening activities. Through this Program, students have the opportunity to gain practical industry experience, participate in advanced research activities; and through international exchange programs.
• Placement in leading core companies like Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Infosys, Computer Associates, ELICO, SIERRA ATLANTA, CMC, Glob arena, Ensine, UTL Technologies, Mahindra Satyam Computer Services Limited InfoTech Enterprises etc

• This should be the motto of every software enginner. This clearly explains the role of skills to do a work. Skills are to be sharpened continuously so as to perform better. These skills play a very important role in the career of a software engineer. Before entering the industry one should have an abstract idea about the field, so that every student can get himself ready to meet the required.
• The Trends of market are changing day by day. The competition is at its acme. To face that competition the student should be confident and gallant enough. He should be in a position so as to face any situation in the market irrespective of the boom outside.
• To improvise these qualities and requirements, the students are trained so as to meet the emerging trends and to boost the confidence. It is therefore necessary to gather students onto one common platform. And this idea was the kneel for the inception of IT INNOVATORS CLUB --- ITIC The students IT started this association.
• ITIC was inaugurated on August31st 2007 at our campus. The Inauguration was done by our beloved chairman Sri.K.V.Vishnu Raju, K.Srinivas Reddy and Sri P.Krishna Ganga Raju was the chief guest and was the guest of honor.
• ITIC provides the required inputs for students to improve themselves both on curriculum oriented study and as well as industry exposure, it concentrates on shaping every individual‘s career for making his future bright and secure.
Programs that took place under the banner of ITIC:
1) Insignia (A national level symposium conducted in year 2005)
2) Fresher party (for 2005 batch)
3) Promethean
4) Seminars (by industry personalities, academicians)
5) Soft skill development training by reputed organizations.
6) Free training on Computer Courses for rural unemployed women an physically challenged people.

3. ITICeven conducts medical check up camps to nearby villagers.
4. And ITIC is always ready to extend its support to the needy in the society.
